This episode we discussed how to start thinking about your website. Do you have one, do you know anything about web design!? We discussed the differences between off the shelf industry design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia/Adobe Dreamweaver, alongside the free alternatives, The Gimp and Kompozer.

We also discussed whether to use templates or not, and the disadvantages of using template sites such as template monster and monster templates. There are great template sites, and the discussion was also around making sure your website was W3C compliant, using online validators.

We then went on to discuss CSS and the benefits of understanding and using CSS, alongside where to go for web layout hints and tips.

Finally, we discussed some great places to go online for some pre-written useful Javascript routines, to get you started. Dynamic Drive is a great starting point.
